Step 3.2: Tighten the shape of Homer’s head by following the guide, but draw a bump over his left eye that represents to represent his eyebrow. Finally, draw three vertical lines, one of which is the main vertical construction line, to make Homer Simpson’s teeth. Draw Homer’s top lip out to the left edge of the circle guide, and draw another bump for his upper lip. Draw Homer’s smile by following the mouth oval’s horizontal line as a guide for where his teeth should be. Homer’s ‘”chin” or lower part of his mouth will touch the bottom of the main circle and come up along its edge a bit. Step 3.1: When you go in to darken the lines that make up Homer Simpson’s mouth, start by connecting the bottom line on the right of his nose to the oval that makes his mouth. Start with his right eye and continue with the left, making sure you don’t darken in the parts of the circle that overlaps his mouth or right eye. Do not darken the right side of the nose (where the nose meets his face). When drawing his nose, dip the top line of the oval a bit to give it a better shape. Step 2.4: Start tightening your drawing by darkening Homer Simpson’s nose. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch. Step 2.3: That’s it for the initial sketch of Homer Simpson from the cartoon The Simpsons! You have the basic Homer Simpson shape, and now you will go in and tighten your drawing. This will be Homer Simpson’s ear and neck. Below that C, draw a line that extends to the bottom of the main circle. Step 2.2: Now draw a backwards C where you left off on Homer’s head. The curve of the U shape will graze the top of the main circle, and it will finally touch down on the horizontal construction line. Step 2.1: Draw an upside-down U that begins near the top left of the left eye. Draw a horizontal construction line to divide the oval in half. The oval will extend to the bottom of the main circle, and it will come out from it slightly on the lower left-hand side. Step 1.5: Now draw an even bigger oval that starts where the original construction lines meet. Extend the oval through the left eye and below the horizontal construction line. Draw the oval so it starts where the two eyes meet. Step 1.4: Draw an oval below the left eye to make Homer Simpson’s nose. Draw another circle about the same size to the left, and make it slightly overlap the first circle, like a Venn diagram. Step 1.3: Draw a small circle just to the right of the vertical construction line and above the horizontal construction line. These will be construction lines that will help you place Homer Simpson’s features later on. Draw the horizontal line in the middle, but draw the vertical one just to the left of the middle. When drawing the lines, bend them so they follow the contour shape of a sphere. Step 1.2: Next draw two intersecting lines across the circle. This circle will more or less be Homer’s head. Draw it closer to the right edge of the paper. Step 1.1: To draw Homer Simpson, start by drawing a huge circle that takes up most of the page’s space. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Intro: Start drawing Homer Simpson with a pencil sketch.
